For those coming into the UK by plane, the most convenient airport is London Stansted, which has direct links to Cambridge by both bus (around 45 minutes) and rail (around 30 minutes). Otherwise, Cambridge is around two hours from London Heathrow by rail and between two and three hours by coach. The coach route is the most direct, with fast buses leaving once every two hours (and slower buses leaving every other hour). The fastest route by rail is to take the Heathrow Express into London Paddington station, then connect by the Circle/Hammersmith & City underground lines to King's Cross St. Pancras, where direct trains leave once every half an hour from King's Cross mainline station to King's Lynn via Cambridge.
Those coming by train via London will also find the most direct routes leaving from King's Cross to King's Lynn via Cambridge. These trains take around forty-five to fifty minutes, while slower trains also leave King's Cross for Cambridge itself, with a number of stops along the way. If cost is an issue, or else there are delays/problems at King's Cross, a slower (but also cheaper) service operates from Liverpool Street station, which may be accessed from King's Cross by the Metropolitan underground line.
